Can I workout the same muscle 2 days in a row? |
|---|---|
| Hey Everyone, I was wondering if I can workout the same muscle 2 days in a row. I was working out biceps yesterday but I don't even feel sore in my biceps. I was thinking about working out biceps again today so I can maybe feel a little sore tomorrow.
What do you guys think I should I do? Thanks for your help

| You really need to give the muscle/s a day of rest to recover and work on a different set. Over working does nothing because the muscle cannot perform at it's peak performance. This can also cause an unneeded and unwanted muscle injury. For sore muscles, I take Hyaluronic Acid. It will help the muscles to expell the lactic acid that builds up when you exercise. |

| I guess... I dont suggest it.Being sore is no fun. (Just moved this weekend so I worked the same muscles for two days....man does it hurt! LOL.) |

| umm ya theres no reason that you can't workout the same muscle more than one day in a row you can workout the dame muscle for 2 years and it wouldn't really hurt you, you might get sore or you might pull something but it won't really hurt you. |

| Depends - were you going for mucle building yesterday, or just toning?
If muscle building - you can actually work that muscle a little harder today. but make sure to always rest after the hard workout. This actually builds muscle a bit faster - the combo of light workout, then a heavy one, then rest. |

| I wouldn't advise it. When you work out you create tiny tears in muscle that needs to heal, which increases the size of the muscle. If it doesn't get a chance to heal you will burnout (take longer to get stronger) and possibly injure yourself if you try to increase weights too fast.
A good way to mix it up would be to do back, shoulders and biceps one day, chest and triceps the next day. Same deal for the lower body. |

| You're not going to tone quickly if you don't break down your muscles (ie. get sore) then give them time to build back up. My guess is that you are not working hard enough and thus not breaking down your muscles. Push yourself to your limit, get sore, work on a different muscle group, go back to your now not-sore muscles and repeat.
Be careful though; if you feel sore, be sure not to overwork yourself and strain your muscles...that will just delay your improvement and hurt your body. Good luck! |

| no because you can pull a muscle and it can hurt. |

| Let the muscle rest. Real muscle gain comes from it being repaired on the day of rest. If you work it now it will not have the time needed and you will have no gain. |

| Let it rest. It will give it a chance to repair itself and become stronger. Alternate between different muscle workouts everyday or whenever you go to the gym |
