deeper voice? |

| im a 16 year old guy and i have a very feminine voice. every always thinks im gay when i talk but i cant help it. stupid voice.. but i dont think i've gone through puberty yet? i dont know how you can really tell because i'm still short 5 foot 3 and everyone is taller than me. i still sound like a little girl and its making me embarassed to do anything. i heard that smoking can make your voice deeper but no i dont want to be a drugee. also i heard that more testosterone makes your voice deeper too. could i be low on that? help pleaaase

| Guys generally take longer to hit puberty. I know a few seniors at my highschool who still have high voices and haven't grown.
My father, for example, was about 5'3" his freshman and sophomore year of highschool. The summer of his sophomore year, he grew to be 6'4". There's hope. You might just not have hit puberty yet. :] |

| go for a general check up with your doctor and he can tell you more, that really sucks for you but hang in there, it'll probably sort itself out |

| Sound off. You're already embarassed so you're probably talking soft. Use your outside voice and you might sound lower. The other thing is that you never hear your own voice the same way as other people do. Try recording yourself and listen to it. I bet you'll be surprised. I didn't think my voice changed but then one day someone told me it had. really. |

| aww cute!wink wink if u dont know if uve gone threw puberty then u probly havent! im 15 and have a lot of guy freinds(they're only friends,geeze) ya so its totally normal, dont smoke it wont help. its the whole puberty thing..when its time yur voice well get deep and yull grow. dont worry bout it, and if yur freinds make fun of u then make fun back. chill k and take it from a grl. ull be fine |

| you probably just havent started puberty yet.
talk to your doctor. smoking makes your voice raspy but not lower, and i recommend you dont do it. |
