I have benn told that i NEED to shave. My dad gave me his electric razor, and I want to shave, but...?
I am afraid people at school will notice and make fun of me. What was it like 4 u guys? I 14 and a half. Will I have little black bumps? Will it be noticable? How often will I have to shave after this?

your face will feel weird for the first week or 2, but after that it will be no problems.

your upper lip will feel numb after shaving, but thats normal, for the first several times

You'll be more manly than them. Whats to make fun of??? If you don't shave you might just grow a beard or sprout a few really long hairs on your face here and there... that seems more "make-fun-of-able" at 14 and half than shaving to me...

As a female who was 14 once... I honestly think you'd be better of shaving than not, if you don't want girls to be freaked out... Not that I would have cared, because I used to be nice once... but a lot of people will be put off by the straggly erratic hair growth.

why should you be embarrassed? my lil bro started shaving when he was 13, maybe 13 & 1/2. he doesn't have any black bumps or anything. i don't think you get those 'til you're older. who knows? maybe most guys'll be jealous of you!! =)

SHAVE! only if you want to! I'm not a man but I assume everyone shaves girls shave their legs boys shave their faces and sometimes their legs. But you can probably let the hair grow out a little to avoid getting ingrowns which are those little black bumps. Who cares if it's noticable everyone knows everyone shaves it's no secret.

Some guys will probably admire you. I know my sons were glad when they started to shave. I guess my older one got tired of it because he has a beard now!

It won't be noticable at this stage. You won't have to shave often at first. As you get older you'll have to shave more often. My kids shaved about once a week for a long time, then they had to start shaving more often.

At this point the black bumps won't be too noticable.

Don't worry about it, just shave. You shouldn't have little black bumps unless your beard is extremely heavy. You may only have to shave once or twice a week right now, but this will increase as you get older.

This all depends on the type of skin you have along with what type of hair you have on your face and how much. Do you have thick hair? Hair that grows quickly? If you're like me, then you do.

With that said, I wouldn't use an electric razor to shave because typically from my experience, I have used electric razors and they do leave stubble and bumps on my face. Now if you have the fancy one where there's lubercation and a quality razor then that might make a difference but I still wouldn't suggest using an electric razor.

What I DO suggest is a Gilette 3 blade - or four blade - razor. It's a good quality razor and takes the hair off in a snap without the painful burning.

Here's a little trick I use when I shave. I shave down (along the stubble) and then I shave up (against the stubble) this takes away all the remaining stubble on your face and leaves your skin smooth for hours. This goes for the sides of your face, your upper lip and chin.

Use a good quality shaving cream or lotion and the girls will be all over you. ;-)

I hope this helps.

dont worry man it happens everytime with new things . like a haircut u think people will make fun but they will say nice haircut and cool dude. like that . a haircut is much worse than a shave because a shave you will get more girls .by the way dont use your dads. save allowance and buy your own raxor.

I highly doubt you'll be ridiculed for needing to shave! Although it's possible the other guys your age might try to cover their jealousy with a bit of razzing.. just shrug it off and laugh. Tell them that shaving's a pain and they'll get to do it soon enough.

Little black bumps are usually from ingrown hairs, especially if your hair is naturally very curly or kinky. You can prevent them by keeping your skin clean, stretching it a little as you shave so the hairs are cut very close to the skin, and using an after shave lotion to keep your skin moisturized.

Right now, when you're starting to shave, maybe twice, three times a week if your beard isn't very thick. It will grow thicker and more dense as you age. Maybe you can cultivate a nice moustache!

Only the jealous will try to bother you. It's about the same as getting a car at age 16 when others around you have skate boards. Shaving is something ever one will have to do, if you are early, congratulations. Being 18 and not having to shave is far worse socially!

It's not so bad. Just don't over load on the aftershave. Here's a site that may prove helpful.
