| Yes. think about it. when your younger and shave at like wat age it grows first back in like a month and then years later you need to shave like every other day. |

| Scientifically speaking, there's no evidence that this is really true, contrary to popular belief. (It doesn't even make logical sense! How could cuting hair at the end affect the root?) However, the stubble that grows in after shaving seems thicker and darker because the short length makes it coarser. It's also much easier to notice stubble growth than a comperable length of growth on longer hair. Also, with regard to long hair, trimming will remove split and dead ends, making hair appear fuller. All this leads to the common misconception you quote above. |

| This is a myth. Your hair looks darker and thicker after you shave because the tip of the hair has been blunted instead of having its natural fine point at the end. As for the longer part, well, healthy trimmed hair does grow faster on your head, so maybe at least that part has some truth to it. |

| shaving stimulates the hair follicles like brushing your hair. the more my husband shaves he says that it grows back quicker and the less that he shaves the slower it grows. about the thicker portion he thinks that it is true or the razor gets duller with the first shave. the darker part is not founded to be true for him or my self because me being a woman shave every thing from eyebrows to pubic hair with no change in color. |

| False. You are still stuck with the same number of hairs or else we would be covered like apes (which we technically are.. The hair grows back prickly and gets it's regular texture as it grows out. Hair texture and color changes with age thus gray haired old people. have a nice day. |

| False.
It can also alter the shape, in addition to the other answers here. By altering the shape of the follicle, it would appear thicker only because it is more flat or oval shaped then round. |
